Hailing from the frozen city of Rochester, New York, Cyrus' uniquely cinematic sound is the result of a background in the orchestral tradition, #1 pop hits, and cutting edge sound design. Cyrus began a career in classical music playing with orchestras across the globe, from Carnegie Hall to recording sessions with the London Symphony Orchestra. Holding an MA from London's Royal Academy of Music under a full scholarship, he studied composition and production in their boutique studio. During his studies he began working as a sound engineer and programmer for multi-platinum producer Guy Chambers at his studio, Sleeper Sounds. There, Cyrus contributed to two UK #1 releases (Robbie Williams, Swing Both Ways) and worked with a host of major UK artists. Inspired in the twilight hours of the empty studio, he began writing and producing his own artists, developing a portfolio ranging from Cinematic Pop to Modern Classical. This portfolio can now be heard on media from International Campaigns (The Walking Dead) to Feature Film Trailers (The Good Kill) and Prime Time TV (The Jimmy Kimmel Show.) Shortly after relocating to Los Angeles, Cyrus worked for music software heavyweight, Output, leading their audio team to bring the award-winning instruments, Signal and Exhale to life.
